Review:

I really loved this book!! Overall it took me one day to finish this awesome book about heaven, secrets, the 5 stages of death and some really good twists that I didnt see it coming. Brie is a very interesting main character because from her point of view we find out some of what was happening. This book had me in tears at some parts because it was beautifully written. I loved every single character! It has to be one of my favorite books to read. It also has an awesome cover that is no denying beautiful because it really does make it really awesome.

The Catastrophic History of You and Me was very good from the beginning because at first we learn about the main character Brie who did suffer from a heart break (literally) but before she died her boyfriend Jacob who says he doesn't love her. At first I was like OMG poor Brie, now she has to find herself and look back at her life as she is in between heaven and hell. I was shocked at some of the parts because I didnt expect it to happen. The story with Jacob was an interesting one, that will leave you with your mouth open.

I think the plot was very good and it always kept me on the edge because you would never know what was going to happen. I think I did also fall in love with the male lead Patrick because when we first met him, from Brie arriving he announces he is a lost soul, but he plays a major part of Bries life in many ways you cant even think about. Patrick is one of those boys that you will love because of his smart comments and the way he encourages Brie to move on with her life than mess with what was going on in the present. There was heartbreak, love and a mix of emotion that goes with this book (bring a tissue). Patrick and Brie together are a fun thing because they are similar in way, he brings the best/worst of her but he does it for her benefit and she does realize this. The ones that show this message about love is the best!! Its a great read!!

I was either shocked or overwhelmed with happiness from reading. I was reading this on the way back from a trip and read it in roughly 6-7 hours. It was addictive and beautiful that it is a must read!! I will definitely be reading Jess Rothenberg's books in the near future because they are amazing!!

I have had one awesome week!! I went to Minneapolis this past weekend and I went to Barns & Noble, which was awesome because I found a pretty hardcover of Shatter Me + Article 5! Then Monday was an awesome day because I got 2 packages in the mailbox from Raincoast Books and Gina Rosati. I was soo excited when I opened it up because the books from Raincoast included the most awesome books, Of Poseidon, a finished copy of Article 5 (I now have 2 copies), another copy of Embrace (love the original cover) Girl Meets Boy and Among Others. In Gina's package, which was soo exciting because she is an awesome author, she sent me an ARC of her debut novel Auracle (signed) and some awesome swag <3 Be sure to follow her on twitter:) On Wednesday, HarperCollins Canada sent me 40 Things I Want To Tell You for an upcoming blog tour, and Once by Anna Carey, really excited to read it! I suck at book bans LOL, I bought Harbinger and The Iron King because I have heard nothing but great things about the series.

On Thursday, I was in contact with one of the publicists of RazorbillCA and I can say that this is an awesome community to get involved in. Review:

One of my new favorites by Sophie Kinsella, I've Got Your Number was full of great humor and even some of the romantic scenes ever! I fell in love with each of the characters, Poppy was such a good person and with her flaws is one that you can relate to. I loved Sam, because despite bringing the comments about Poppy he really got to be one of her best friends and in the end I was happy because it was a great scene. Its one of those books that will leave you wanting more from the story and the ending was done beautifully and I was totally waiting for it to happen! Rings can bring people together!!

The Story: What I liked most was the story lines because it was unique and it had one of Kinsella best humors in it! I have read many books by this author and this one has to be my favorite of all time because I was emotional at some parts with the end and the story with Poppy and Magnus were an interesting couple but as the reader sees, he is more like a child in a way, and that he loves her. As the story does go on it was an up and down emotional ride for me because I just wanted Poppy and Sam together!!! Sam is a really overall great character because Poppy really helps him and they discover this relationship through their cell phones and it can grow into something more.

This book is a definite read because it will leave you wanting more of Kinsella work because she does not disappoint in her novels. Her work is addictive as well as the characters because some people can relate to them. The characters will leave you laughing for more as well as the emotional aspect because despite the waiting it will be worth it! Be sure to pick this book up because you will not be disappointed!! Overall one of the best!! I want a Sam!!

Review:

Goddess Interrupted was soo good like OMG Awesome!!! I thought its plot was very creative and it was amazing!! From beginning I was caught up in Kate and Henry's life in the Underworld. I loved the first book The Goddess Test, that I couldn't wait to read this book. It did not disappoint either. From every page Carter will grab your attention with Kate and Henry's in the Underworld, and the things that will happen along the way. Kate was a bit whiny about how she wasn't sure that Henry loved her, but it is hard for him because in a way he still has a connection with his first wife Persephone. Calliope is still evil and I can expect to see her more in the next novel, she will leave us speechless.

Persephone was a very interesting character because we get to see this side of Henry that we never really saw in The Goddess Test. Henry was very cold in the beginning because after Kate got back he got a little jealous. But after he was taken to the Underworld, we see that Kate and Henry are still sorting out their feelings for each other. They are a normal couple, and they are trying to reach each other that people are conflicting with their reunion. I really did like this part because with this block between them because in the end, it was a BIG Surprise ending that I didnt even expect to happen!!

The sequel was really well done and put together. Aimee Carter is one of my favorite authors and she has created this series that I have fallen in love with her characters. Kate is a very dependent character, but she does show that she is very powerful in this book. We see her starting to get used to the role of Queen of the Underworld, with her husband Walter. It was a very great read and the ending was amazing because now I want the next book!! From beginning to end Aimee Carter left me wanting more of her writing because it was addictive, Goddess Interrupted is definitely a must read!!

Review:

I really LOVED this book, it had great chemistry with the characters, the plot was fantastic and it grabs your attention right away. I really liked how Kristen Simmons has created this world of dystopian. I knew I had to read this when I saw the summary of the book, because I love the sound of it. I wasn't wrong, because it blew me away with the characters and the plot. I really liked how Simmons put it together and the back history of the character with scenes of Chase and Ember.

Article 5 was action packed and full of mystery of this new community that has risen after they had their wars. The world had some really outrageous laws that I could not believe that this was happening in this book. The soldiers which play a major role in this "world" has been the puppets in this plan to help take over old society with Brock as the main women to help "proper" young women since their parents were taken away or they were killed. I would run away from this society.

Now to the main characters of whom I have loved since they are so great together, you have to know what is going on with their friendship/romance. I was rooting for these two since reading the back, and knowing that she loves him was even more encouraging because you want to know if Chase feels the same way as Ember (you see this develop more in the book) Simmons does it beautifully because I was crying at some parts, because of what was going on with there search for Ember's mom and how they clash as a couple in a way. As themselves they are both worthy, intelligent people, that out maneuver the law and save each other because they are a part of each others past.

They are the cutest couple through the beginning of how they are neighbors to the day he decides to become a soldier, her love for Chase is ever growing. After being apart from each other, you can see the tension raising between them. I love this type of romance because the anticipation is soo worth it, and they are very alike + Chase is soo dreamy!!

Based on this, I thoroughly recommend this book!! If you love dystopians this is a book for you! It had the perfect amount of action heart pounding scenes that will make you continue to read it. From beginning to end, you will want to know what is going to happen in the next book in this fantastic debut novel by Kristen Simmons. Pick this book up today!!!

S.R. Johannes Top 10 Middle Grade/Tween Books

I didn’t read much tween or middle grade books until I started writing one. So my list does’t go back as far as it probably should. But this is my top ten, mostly of recent books with a few classics.

Radiance by Alyson Noel

I love this book. Based on timeline, Alyson and I were writing our books at the same time and I love how they work parallel to each other. Riley is from the Evermore series and she becomes a soul catcher. I think Riley and Gabby would be good friends.

Harry Potter series by (oh…what’s her name?)

Seriously, need I say more? This book put children’s books on the map and has done so much for reluctant readers. But for me the plotting and character building was perfection.

I think this is classified as middle grade. The whole book torn me apart but I love it still the same.

Bedknobs and Broomsticks by Mary Norton

This book is nothing like the movie. But it is a fantastic adventure through London, England and a tropical island.

Review:

I really enjoyed reading On the Bright Side because it had a unique twist on the Angel features. Even after Gabrielle has died and went to heaven now its her duty to protect the Mortals from any harm. I loved the concept of the novel and how it developed at a great pace. As I was reading it was was starting to get into the characters personalities and what they really wanted.

I felt really bad for Gabrielle in the beginning due to the loss of never having her first kiss and not telling her best friend Micheal that she really liked him more as a friend. I was hoping they would "stay together" instead of her ex-friend Angela. Angela was one of those characters which you hated at first, because of what she did to Gabby before she died. But she did eventually grow on you on the end after the events with the evil Malum(devil). Micheal was an adorable character, I see why Gabby liked him because he has a great personality and he liked her for her. I really really wish we see him again if there is a sequel.

The writing was beautiful, I was in love with S.R. Johannes writing and the skills she has of grabbing your attention with the facts of acronyms for the Angels system of helping them help the world and save the world from evil. The whole story was very well developed. Now I think "heaven" is like that in a way with BITS protecting us from harm.

Overall, it was a very enjoyable read. It had romance and action with the bad guys. I did kinda wish the characters were a bit older.I cant wait until the next one to find out whats next with Gabby and her journey, maybe she will find love, there is potential I think. It was still a great read, and I cant wait to be part of this tour in a week or so, so stay tuned for my interview with S.R. Johannes!!

Q: Which book genre do you avoid at all costs and why?

Good question, I think I avoid anything with self-help and magazines (dont really read them anymore). This is because when I go to the book store I go straight to the Young Adult section/ Fiction section(depends on which Author will be on the shelf ex. Emily Giffin, Meg Cabot) I have always never liked self-help, I found it boring and it didnt help me. Magazine are too full of gossip, I can only handle so much.

Review:

This book was sooooo good!!!!! Its a definitely a MUST read. If you are a big fan of Greek gods and mythology with a romance twist this book is for you. I fell in love with the whole thing since I did start it at 11pm and stayed up until almost 3am, and I just finished it. It had a great plot, the romance with Nikki and Jack was adorable, I was awwwing throughout it because I just wanted these characters together!

The whole novel was very well written, and the way Brodi Ashton does it hooks you on this whole idea of the Everneath, the information and the characters were amazing. I am a big fan of mythology, so I was hooked when I first started the book. I thought the book wasnt confusing at all because it was easy to understand what was happening at the beginning of each chapter.

Nikki was brought back after just waking up from a 100 year nightmare in Everneath. The one that that kept Nikki sane was her love for Jack because he is her boyfriend and she love him. Jack has to be the sweetest boyfriend, and when Nikki shows us what was leading up to her fall to the Everneath, it does piece together at why she went along with Cole. Cole was a very cool character, he was interesting even though he is very persistent with Nikki about returning to the underworld as his queen. Love triangles are a very interesting thing because we don't know what man she will choose, but its very clear that she is still in love with Jack (unconditionally). Even I fell in love with Jack and his personality. Cole I think will be playing with my heart in the next one!

The story does have a great scenes and it picks up when Nikki wants to fight against going back to the evil place that took her in the first place. It was very different to any other mythical books. The writing was very well done, I was hooked from the start. It is definitely one series that I will be looking forward to when the next 2 books come out!!! Be sure to pick this one up!!

Q: What's the craziest thing you've ever done to get your hands on any particular book?

A: That`s a hard question, but I guess it was when I was at Chapters looking for Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor. I knew beforehand that they had the book in the store, but they didnt put them on the shelves yet. I asked one of the workers if they were able to help me. They searched their system and told me that it was just delivered yesterday (this was a Tuesday). So they searched the shelves, nothing, then she told me they would put it on hold for me. But being me, I knew one of the workers, who usually knows me to maybe get the book from the back:) It took a little while, but I did get the book. This has happened a lot to me, but eventually I do get that particular book that I want.

Review:

Wow, OMG was this book awesome! I really enjoyed Hunting Lila soo much. Sarah Alderson is a great writer! In her debut novel she really shows how Lila is very special with her abilities.The intrigue and suspense in this book was AMAZING!! From the first scene of the book with Lila and the mugging and she then discovers how powerful she is. This is better than X-Men, but its also similar because you get to see that Lila is different and that her brother and Alex dont really know who they are working for.

The plot was put together well, and had lots of action and romance! The unique plot that takes place since Lila sets ground in the US to visit her brother Jack and his best friend Alex who Lila has had a crush on since she was six. Along the way, we discover new things about Lila's powers and that there are more like her. The pace of the book was a good pace because then it all comes together nicely at the end, making me want the next book.

The romance was soo full of emotions even between Lila and Alex. They have know each other a long time, even after they moved she still keeps in touch with her brother and Alex.The stair scene was soo cute when she sees Alex for the first time, it was heart warming. There were soo many scenes and interactions that I just fell in love with this romance that is developing. Lila is a very likable character because you can relate to her for her personality because she is strong. People will fall in love with Alex for his strong duty to protect the ones he loves, and he is smart!

There was soo much action during this book, and it will not let you down! I was getting so nervous wondering what will happen throughout the entire book. Alderson did an amazing job with the ending. It had me turning the pages so fast that I had to know what is happening and the end left me speechless for wanting more. I cant wait until the second book because it will be sooo good!! I will be pre-ordering the second book because Hunting Lila was an amazing read!! **It sucks that this is not available to read in the US or Canada, but you can always order it online and that it will come soon here.

Why didn't I read this book earlier!!! Delirium was AMAZING!!! It has to be one of my favorite books. I loved everything about this novel. Lauren Oliver did not disappoint in her new trilogy. Lena is a very strong character and the romance with Alex left me breathless, because they are perfect for each other and this "world" where they have to take away a piece of love out of you is a very different concept. From beginning to end the romance, action and the characters will bring you to tears. It was developed beautifully. The writing precise that it will leave you to want more of Lauren Oliver's books!

The romance was beautiful. From the first moment you meet Alex, you know that he is a great male lead. He helps Lena discover more of herself, that life doesnt always have to be about the cure. The cure is a operation that will take the delira out of your brain for you to forget, and the word love. Alex is soo Hot *swoon* that he will want you to go with him everywhere. Lena was right to follow her heart because from the first moment he saw Lena running with her friend Hana he knew he had to get to know her! I was in love after that. I think Hana is a great character because she brought out the "party" side to Lena because she was afraid to disobey the life she was told to follow. Hana has been with her since the 2nd grade, so best friends will fight, but they also will forgive.

Lena is also left without her mother and now her sister who has gone through the cure. When discovering this part of Lena's family and what happens before with both of her parents, they were a happy family. Each of Oliver's characters were unique, and to apply this to a dystopian is amazing because you grow attached to them, and want to know more of what will happen next to the characters. The Invalids are supposedly bad, but from reading they are just normal people trying to survive and have the openness to love despite get a procedure to take it away!

The ending left me speechless!!!!!! I was soo shocked and almost in tears at what was happening. Lauren Oliver I heard is the best at cliffhangers, including this book because its one of the ways to make us readers want more of what Lena is going to go through in the sequel. I have already been skimming the book for the most memorable parts because its soo good!! I recommend this book to everyone! Its a book you cant put down!!! After reading Delirium, now I want the next one in the series, Pandemonium (can it come out quicker!!) Pick this book up right away!!

Review:

In Sarah Ockler's newest novel Bittersweet we get to see lots of yummy cupcakes, and a whole new side to the life of figure skating and hockey. Hudson and Josh are one of the cutest couples, but it was hard for them to finally get together after all the obstacles they go through, but I was still rooting for him to make his move. The first time they actually meet is on the little lake near an abandoned building, where they accidentally bump into each other.

From the beginning of the story of the background of Hudson's life at her competition, we know that the family is having something wrong. Hudson is also a baker/server at her family dinner in the town of Watonka, New York. After her coach passes away after she quits 3 years ago, Hudson main goal is to win the scholarship in order to help her family. The whole story shows the reader that we cant accomplish everything on our own, and we need family or friends to help us. Hudson does learn this along the way with her being so busy with the Wolves (School hockey team), the Diner, baking beautiful cupcakes that makes her know as the Cupcake Queen after an article in the paper, school and boys.

This beautiful story from beginning to end will be wanting to help Hudson and her family because we are all going through this, even when all the diner problems come to arise. Her love of skating helps her discover that she still wants to skate to either help the hockey team and for getting the scholarship. Hudson is very determined, stubborn and a very hardworker and has some awesome skills in baking and skating. I loved this character because you can see through the book that she is growing up. Trick was a comic relief, at one point he mentions that men are like onions LOL (Shrek) it was a great scene.

The romance was very well done, Ockler had be waiting for when Josh finally did his move! Will was a good guy in the end, despite his own family issues, but he did pull through for the team. He was able to get Hudson to show the team new techniques in order to help win the Wolves some games, despite that the coach did nothing. Josh was a totally sweetie, and you will fall in love with him when you first meet him, totally a knight in shining armor.

Sarah Ockler is a very talented author as she captures the reader in understanding Hudson's life. Bittersweet has romance, cupcakes and action! I will be reading upcoming novels by this author in the near future because she did not disappoint. It was put together nicely and the ending made me want more!! This is a book that I recommend to anyone who is in need of a little romance and skating.

Review:

In Jennifer E. Smith romance novel The Statistical Probability at Love at First Sight, I thought it was a great read! It had romance, family life and the possibility that you can find love in airports. Smith's words let me be able to imagine England; the novel was so beautiful that I was in a little tears at a part. Oliver is one Hot boy! He is smart, funny and full of life that Hadley discovers that he is the one! From the first moment she meets him, I saw the connection between these two. It was a great way to introduce both of the characters. Hadley's family life was the basis of the plot as well, because without her father getting married in England, she wouldn't have meet sweet adorable Oliver. It must have been an awesome flight because Hadley and Oliver have chemistry. The last 30 pages I was waiting for something to happen, I was reading the pages like crazy.

The characters, Hadley was a great protagonist, her character was funny, smart and brave. Each one, Hadley and Oliver had a great personality which I liked because we get to see them grow as well. Oliver is able to help her consider growing up and he opens up to her as well.

The writing was very well done. I was starting to fall for Oliver at some point during the novel. Oliver was a very interesting character to get to know on a plane because both Hadley and Oliver are very similar and enjoy each others company. The expected love at first sight can still happen in airports, anywhere. This book can still give hope to others who havent found love.The plot was very well done. From reading the first page to the last I was loving this book!

Jennifer E. Smith has created a beautiful story that will show that love will always find you in convenient places, even the airport. It has also told me that family is important even if your father is marrying another women. It was hard for Hadley to adjust to this, but she learned in the end that she did forgive him for what he did. The book had no loose ties, or shocking ending, because the ending was perfect. I was in love with the book, it was soo cute!! It is a must read! The Statistical Probability of Falling in Love at First Sight was sweet, adorable and will warm your heart. Its one book you can look forward to for your next read.

I have a lot of favorites. Archer and Evan’s ‘just bones’ scene always comes to mind, along with any of Archer’s confrontations with his mom. A lot of readers seem to enjoy the more tender moments with him and Evan, but I always like the emotional, heartbreaking scenes best when writing.

2) How did you come up with the idea of plot/story?
I had several other WIPs at the time, but I dropped all of them when I got the idea for Archer. He was so fascinating to me, and I dove into his story immediately. It started with him and branched out from there.

3) How long did it take you to finish Hushed?
I don’t remember the exact time, but I’ll guess around 5 months from start to finish. There was a small gap in there of a few weeks wherein I got stuck and didn’t do much writing at all.

4) Favorite thing to do on your spare time?
Video games. And animals. I have a lot of pets to keep me entertained. I’m also in love with shows like The Walking Dead and American Horror Story.

5) Which character was the hardest to write about?

Possibly Evan. His patience was so unwavering that at times I had a difficult time maintaining his frame of mind about everything. Archer was the easy one. That probably says something about me that I have an easier time writing screwed up characters rather than well-adjusted ones...

Review:

This book was sooo AMAZING!!! I was head over heels in love with Jodi Meadows characters, Ana and Sam <3 From the first moment I saw the cover of this awesome book, I knew I had to read it. Am totally into reincarnation and dragons, sylphs and music! It had the best romance scenes, that I was fanning my self with what Jodi was writing. I was also chatting with her on Twitter when I was reading it! Its so awesome to talk to Jodi:) Sam is my new love interest..... he plays piano and he takes care of Ana and its a hot dancer/kisser, I call that my perfect man!

What I liked most about this book was the way the book flowed. I practically devoured this book in two days, because the writing was addicting and also the characters were so likeable that you can relate to Ana and her personality. Her fast friendship with Sam that grows into romance was fantabulous and steamy that this scene was sooo romantic and hot that I wanted to marry Sam. I adored the whole entire storyline with reincarnation. My favorite part was the masquerade ball, it made me speechless and wanting more. This scene is sooo swoon worthy I can still remember what happened! Sam may be an old soul, but he has lots of heart.

The romance, this is my favorite part. Sam and Ana have strong chemistry that you are waiting from the beginning where is Sam!!! Yes I <3 Sam!! Ana is a new-soul and is the only one out in this world. The city of Heart are worried that she will infect them when she comes, and she actually has to be supervised into coming to the city Heart. The masquerade scene is the best scene EVER, the writing was perfect and you can envision this scene from your head, heres a sneak: (it maybe a spoiler but it is steamy)

"Three long seconds and he only gasped and tightened his hands on my back. Then, with a moan, he opened his mouth and kissed me. It wasn't easy, sweet kiss like I'd imagined my first would be, but frustrated and hungry." ( Page 167 E-ARC)

The setting was written beautifully, I could picture everything that was described, when Ana and Sam were traveling to the main city. The town itself was really cool because the city was already built and ready for them when the Old Souls got there. It got me more interested when Ana was trying to figure who she is and how she became a New-Soul. She does go to the library to learn of her "former" person and discovers some interesting things, including her "connection" with Sam.

When uncovering this mystery of finding herself, she starts falling in love with Sam. From the very beginning after he saves her from the Sylph and also her love for music, she develops strong feelings for him. Sam is courageous, but a little stupid for fighting dragons, and in his past life he always dies by either Sylph or Dragons.

The cover is so pretty that I practically love it! The butterfly mask is soo beautiful, that you want to have this on your shelves. I know I do because I loved this book from beginning to end. Incarnate is a MUST read, it definitely belongs on everyone's shelves. The story and romance will blow you away! Book 2 will be soo awesome!! I cant wait to read it!!! Be sure to buy this one on January 31!!
